Our Non-Profit Visions Come to Life!
XplorMor International, a non-profit branch of XplorMor, aims to inspire the global community to explore our dynamic planet, to seek out opportunities to preserve and conserve its wonders, to build community between cultures, and to share the journey through scientific documentation and archival photography.
XplorMor International organizes, participates and supports scientific, archaeological and cultural fieldwork expeditions in the United States and around the World.
Expeditions created and led by the XplorMor International Team aim to find, identify and record (both by documentation and photographic media):
- Unique and often never before observed aspects of natural and social human history. The results are intended to add to the cartographic record of our world and its history.
- Archaeological finds of petroglyphs and pictographs in remote regions of the United States and the world, with the ultimate purpose of preserving these for academic research and for the benefit of future generations.
- Photographic recording of sites around the world that have been designated as World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO, some of which are in danger of destruction. The ultimate purposes of preserving these ancient and historic places are to provide for academic research and to offer future generations insight into the world’s historical record.
- Biological expeditions, particularly in the field of Island Biogeography and Entomology, with the purpose of conducting field surveys of unique and sometime never before observed organisms to include but not be limited to insects, reptiles, amphibians and birds. These expeditions typically venture to remote areas of the world isolated by either political and/or geographic obstacles.
XplorMor International provides complete logistical support. This includes expedition itineraries, travel plans, targeting fieldwork goals, contact with U.S. and foreign government officials, and initiating discussion with institutions of higher learning and research (i.e. universities and academies of science, research institutes). Fundraising, language services, transportation and guides will also be provided based on requests.
