Project Transitions

Closed

Project Transitions will take place on the September Equinox which will fall between September 22 and 23, depending on your location. The Project aims to capture transitions as seen through the perspective of each participant on a single day. The September Equinox provides an ideal inspiration to photograph transitions as an equinox marks the changeover from one season to another, from light into dark in the Northern Hemisphere and dark into light in the Southern. It represents change, passage, transformation, conversion, metamorphosis, alteration and movement. Have fun and get creative!

Project Color

Closed

Project Color seeks to capture the colors of our world from around the globe on a single day, the March Equinox, when the days grow longer in the Northern Hemisphere and shorter in the Southern Hemisphere. On this day the length of the sun’s appearance is the same at all points on the Earth. The sun gives us light. Light gives us color. Hence, a great day for color photography.

Project Shadow

Closed

Project Shadow aims to capture shadows as seen through the perspective of each participant on a single day, the September Equinox. The Equinox provides an ideal moment when the Earth is not tilted toward or away from the sun, and the length of the day and shadows are the same at all points on the Earth’s surface.

Project Solar Day

Closed

Project Solar Day has the honor of being the first XplorMor Project. It was designed for participants to witness and capture the sun travelling around the planet on a single day, the December Solstice, and to share their unique perspective through photography. December has proven a challenging month for this particular project as the northern hemisphere is in winter. Despite numerous weather obstacles, participants have pushed their creativity to capture the sun and share their photos… keep it up!
